Young Voices Reminders

Please can I take this opportunity to remind you about the Young Voices concert tomorrow. Children need to remember a packed lunch and tea, plus many drinks. They need to be wearing full uniform with their plain white or Young Voices T-Shirt. Children are not permitted to bring mobile phones, cameras or any other device. If you choose to support the charity ‘FareShare’, children are invited to bring a can or packet of food to donate. Thank you.

Young Voices Ticket Available

We have a spare audience ticket for the Young Voices Concert in Birmingham if anyone would like to purchase it from us. The cost £19.50. The Young Voices Concert is for Class 3 on Tuesday 24th January. The ticket is available from the school office, please speak to Becky or Caroline.

Knex Challenge

Owl Class were engineers this afternoon and were given the task of building a machine to rescue someone from a burning building. The children worked in pairs to complete the challenge using knex. The children were incredibly focussed during their build and were constantly making improvements on their models to strengthen it. We were very pleased with the finished models. A huge congratulations to Toby and Che for being the winning team, they will go on to represent the school in a regional competition in March.

On the last day of term, Owl class presented their class assembly to an audience of parents and Grandparents, it was great to see so many of you there. For those of you who were unable to make it, here are some photos of our trip to Ironbridge that we shared during the assembly.

Our Take on Lowry

Owl class have been studying the artist LS Lowry. We took one of his most famous paintings and worked in pairs to recreate it using chalk pastels. We worked as a whole class team to ensure that the pictures matched up with each other. We are very proud of our final result!

Owl Class Assembly

Would you like to know how Angus got himself into such trouble?

Why Bryony is looking so pleased with herself?

Why Lowri and Abi are looking so worried?

Or how Jake and Olly got to have so much fun?

Then come along to Owl Class Class assembly on Thursday 20th October 2.45pm. The assembly will take place in Owl classroom and will celebrate this terms work and topic. I look forward to seeing you there!
